Yesterday was the day that we said Farewell to Dad (Peter). The funeral went as well as can be expected in these difficult times. We (Dads children) did manage to raise a glass (or three) to dad via a group video link yesterday afternoon. This tribute page has only highlighted the mixed emotions that we are experiencing. On one hand it’s lovely to see that dad had many friends and family members that have left lovely thoughts, memories and generous donations/beautiful flowers and on the other that how many of you were sadly missed yesterday. Over the past few weeks we may not have been able to communicate with everyone directly, sometimes because of the intensity of phone calls to the hospital or to the officials or at other times because we may have not felt up to it but we knew that we had your support and that you were there for us if we needed anything which has given us much comfort. We are extremely grateful to you all and hope that we will see you in the future to raise a glass to Dad together .

I will miss hearing Peter's views on books and life when he called in to the Oxfam shop on my shifts. I used to wave at him when I was doing the window displays and he would always wave back or call in. He was very proud of his family and clearly loved you all very much. He will be much missed in the shop. Kind thoughts from Kate
